Quick Summary
The Family Chalmers Consortium is a multigenerational, family-owned collective rooted in creativity, stewardship, and principle. We build lasting work — not for shareholders, but for each other, our community, and the future.
Our Ethos
We are not here to flip, scale, or sell out. We are here to create something enduring — a circle of work and art designed to sustain our family, enrich our community, and leave the land better than we found it.
What We Do
The Consortium brings together decades of lived experience — publishing, music, homesteading, land care, food, and art — into a single, sustainable structure.
We operate by consensus, not hierarchy. We value collaboration over competition, integrity over expedience. Our projects are interconnected, intentional, and infused with purpose.
Closing Note
This isn’t just business.
It’s our legacy.
Our practice.
Our offering.

Photographs tell us what people looked like. Dates tell us when things happened. But stories tell us who someone was.
Your Book About You is a guided memoir project for people who want to leave something more meaningful than a box of old pictures and paperwork. Through a series of conversations, memories become stories, stories become chapters, and chapters become a book that can be shared with family and friends for generations to come. Because every life is unique, and every life deserves to be remembered.
An independent magazine covering politics, culture, community and where they intersect to shape our collective future.
Free subscriptions because ideas do not behind paywalls.
open submission policy because we all have a voice in the matter.
